Coastal Electric's Photos > Before we began building anything we had lots of discussion. First we had to get a "green light" for the project. Then we discussed where the system would go.
Coastal Electric's Photos > Discussion included details about where we would install equipment to tie the energy generated by the system into our system and where we would put the equipment tracking the output of the solar panel system.
Coastal Electric's Photos > The system's installation began with burying a 21 foot pole into 6 feet of concrete.
Coastal Electric's Photos > The pole was set in the concrete on a Friday afternoon and the next day the installation began.
Coastal Electric's Photos > The system was installed by OneWorld Sustainable Energy. Given that the system was installed on Saturday the contractors had plenty of room to spread out their materials and tools. They began about 9 a.m. on Saturday and finished about 4 p.m. on Saturday. After they left, there was still final details for the electrician and issues to make an Internet connection work. That was a job for another day.
Coastal Electric's Photos > There are six panels like the one above on the solar array. Each panel is 1.81 inches thick and is 5 feet by 2.5 feet.

Coastal Electric's Photos > The contractors started by building a frame on the pole. Then they attached the panels.
Coastal Electric's Photos > Attaching the panels didn't take long, but the contractors also had to install recording devices.
